New Program aims to improve diversity of tourism and events in Columbus.
Experience Columbus, Tourism Diversity Matters and the Greater Columbus Sports Commission have announced a new partnership to build a more diverse hospitality and tourism industry in Central Ohio, called the Diversity Apprenticeship Program. The DAP will provide hands-on experience and job opportunities to local students from minority communities to position them for long-term success in the industry and the region.
Hoteliers Invest in New Properties and Renovations
Global hotel chains are continuing to renew and expand their empires as more and more markets return to normality around the world. Ritz-Carlton, Langham and Marriott are just some of the new properties being unveiled.
Pittsburgh will host The Industrialist, a new property coming to Marriott’s Autograph Collection. Built within the historic James Arnott building in the Pittsburgh CBD, the hotel pays tribute to the storied industrial heritage of the city and region.
Not to be outdone Ritz-Carlton has recently opened their sumptuous new Turks & Caicos location, featuring nearly 150 ocean-view rooms, 23 suits, five multi-story penthouses and 20,000 square feet of meeting space.
But it isn’t just new properties that brands are investing in. The Langham Boston is reopening its doors after two years of extensive renovations, including a new lobby, ballroom, bar and restaurant. The historic property includes 11 refurbished event spaces totaling 13,500 square feet. Proving once again that there has never been a more exciting time to find that perfect venue
Amex takes new, event-focused approach to Tennis sponsorship.
American Express has refreshed its approach to the U.S. open, of which it is a major sponsor, to include patio and lounge spaces, pop-up courts in Manhattan and activations across New York. The event, which took place from September 12 at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, is a clear demonstration of the opportunities technology and strategy can offer as we move into a post-COVID world.
