The Huddle Leadership Team are excited to announce the appointment of Hayley Contegiacomo to the role of Global Chief Technology Officer. Our Director of Marketing sat down for a Q&A with Hayley on her first day with Huddle:
Why did you choose to join the Huddle Team?
Having worked with hundreds of corporate event planners over the past 10 years I have a good understanding of the challenges they are facing and what’s needed to make their jobs more efficient and less stressful. I am excited to join Huddle because they are committed to investing in the people and systems that will make a world of difference to event managers. The chance to use technology to solve event managers’ problems and build a more sustainable, balanced and efficient industry was too good to pass up. Working with other women in leadership to build a culture that prioritizes the personal as well as professional needs of our team was a big priority as well. Those two things combined make it a no brainer for me.

So technology is going to be a big focus moving forward?
Absolutely. Technology in general and event tech specifically is moving so fast these days it really is a full-time job to keep up with the latest developments. And yet most events teams don’t have the resources to have a dedicated event technologist. That’s where we can add value to corporate events teams by working with them to understand their challenges and implement systems and technology to solve them. Huddle has some really exciting solutions to make event planning more automated and to give companies easy access to all their meeting data. I can’t wait to get started!
What’s the biggest lesson you learned from working in events through a global pandemic?
I have learned so much from working with clients during the pandemic! But I would say the biggest thing is that the industry needs to be flexible and adaptable to survive. As an event technologist, the pandemic has challenged me to raise the bar as the whole world pivoted to virtual. It has been a steep learning curve for us all, but I am excited by the new emphasis on event technology. There couldn’t be a better time to join Huddle.
