AI Event Intelligence Platform Funded
It seems like every day we are reading of new applications for virtual reality, augmented reality or artificial intelligence in the world. And for event planners it is no different it seems, with event apps and event experiences leveraging AI proliferating by the day. Recently Vendelux achieved a Series A funding round totalling $14 million, showing that enthusiasm for new technology solutions is alive and well.
The platform Vendelux is developing is meant to help event marketers predict ROI for sponsorship and attendance of events, and is the creation of two ex-Shutterstock execs. We can’t wait to see more
Mondee snaps-up AI Company
Continuing the AI event technology trend, Mondee recently purchased AI company Purplegrids in a deal apparently worth $19 million. Mondee is a tool designed to make wholesale booking easier by using recent AI advancements to power their chatbot named Abhi.
Purplegrids expertise centres on large language models for generative AI tech, deep learning and computer vision. We are really excited to see event organizers and event professionals find ways to use these tools to make attendee experiences more seamless and efficient.
$191 Million for Sustainable Aviation Fuel
We talk a lot about sustainability here at Huddle, and one of the biggest challenges to a net zero events industry is the unfortunate fuel costs of moving attendees around the world. But the event space isn’t alone in this, the travel industry and transportation more broadly are also deeply interested in more sustainable aviation fuels (SAF)
That is why we were pleased to see the recent funding of SkyNRG, the latest in a series of SAF proposals that have been trying to get off the ground recently, if you will pardon the pun. The Amsterdam-based company already sells fuel to airlines and manufacturers, and hopes this new injection of cash will help them scale up. We hope so too, for the sake of all of us who both enjoy flying and care about reaching net zero.
Real-Time Photo Delivery for Attendees
Team members who attended IMEX America in October reminded us recently of a technology offering they were interested in. We all love having great photos of our events, or of the events we are attending. Especially in these days of perpetual instagram, personalized event experiences can be all the more special when they are shared. And sharing a photo with a new contact can be a great networking opportunity. SpotMyPhotos made the whole process a lot easier, letting us receive photos in real time via private photo sharing tech that matched our snapshots with us.
While it requires an attendee to opt in, those who choose to experience the new tech can have their photos instantly delivered to them, leveraging AI powered facial recognition and more.
Two-Way AI Speech Translation
Another piece of event tech news we got to see in person was Interprefy releasing their new and upgraded translator. One of our favourite parts of attending the big marquee events that mark the year is the incredible diversity of event professionals, meeting planners, event technology service providers, and more that you meet. However, language barriers can sometimes make things difficult.
Interprefy’s software now allows two-way translation, as well as simultaneous translation of multiple spoken languages during meetings and events.Recognized by the recent AI for Good Global Summit, we look forward to trying it out again!
Exciting New Carbon Accounting Tool
We are also very proud that our sister company Event Zero have launched their carbon accounting tool, designed specifically to meet the needs of the events industry. So many of our clients ask about quanitfying the environmental impact of their events to allow them to make strategic decisions about everything from resource allocation to venue selection in a environmentally friendly way. Check them out at www.eventzero.io to learn more about this exciting new tool!
